You havent been hacked per se but your email was collected from some other source and used it to send a bulk email.

could be anything or anyone..the other thing that happens is when you send out emails to your friend and if their account is compromised they use this list of contacts to send out spam mail. Also, if you are part of any chain mail...like forwarding the forwards...its a good way to collect email address.

i googled and found out that many ppl have complained on gmail feedback site for the same problem...but gmail never replied back, victims say redut.net is an IP tracker...thats all known about this mail.
