no history in IE 5.5

i did not screw anything in the settings, but since last 3 days...whenever i start the browser...the history is gone...earlier i dint have to log in at FZ, i had ticked the option "remember me"...all i had to do was open browser...type F in address bar and select FZ from drop down.

now when i open the browser..i have to manually type www.fundoozone.com and then my user id and and password again and again....same is happening with other sites/forums

and sometimes a chinese sites opens on any of the page already opened:(

kya lafda hai yaar? i am at ease with IE, chrome confuses me with its tab...same with FF

half of the sites wont work in IE5.5 due to different Javascript DOM. :D

i am running win XP, and IE that comes standard with XP (its 5.5 i guess).

i have avg free version...which i have not updated since long....thats because my net surfing is limited to few sites and emails only.... i know what to click and what not to on internet so rarely do my PC get infected.

lele pai, aajkal ke virus/worms bina kuch click kiye bhi aa jatey hai. Real life may muth marne se koi infection nahi hota lekin net par aisa nahi :D


IE 8 will be installed only after validation. Use Chrome/FF

Use add/remove program and uninstall your IE. Restart your PC and then again by add/remove program install IE. if you have XP with SP3 then it will install IE7.0

The very fact that system restore solved your problem means you screwed up something/somewhere :hammer1:


PS : Since you don't remember where/what you screwed, it is advisable that you get yourself tested :3:

It is not at all necessary that only after manual settings change problems with PC might occur. When you are on the net, anything could happen and settings get changed without your knowledge.

I myself had to resort to System Restore option twice in the previous six months. Once I failed because some malware had corrupted the system restore option and the OS had to be reloaded after saving important files and the other time I succeeded.
