Looks like BCCI read Tony Greig's article on cricinfo. Tony said the Aussies have always been in awe of Sehwag because of the way he smacked them allover the ground in the last series.

Lets hope he takes inspiraton from Dada and come back strongly :)

India's Test squad for Australia
Wasim Jaffer, Virender Sehwag, Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk), Anil Kumble (capt), Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, RP Singh, Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma, Pankaj Singh.

Jaffer and Sehwag make a good opening combination if they include him at all.

team should be performance based. he has failed for past so many years that i dont remember his days of success.

he and sachin are old, there WERE legends but now they are oldies, let them go and let new players shape up their career. kill the old space hoggers :hi_5:

Sachin is 3 years younger than our captain - Kumble :D
And Sehwag is only 29 :D
I hope this opportunity gives a new life to his carreer. He still has 5/6 years of cricket left in him.

My first line was about 'performance' you can see Kumble's performance and sehwag's performance. Sehwag should have retired 5-6 years ago

My guess is that this will be his last tour. Aussies already know how to take care of him.

Aussies have played the mind game..... the ba$tards have issued a statement saying how impressed/scared they are of sehwag.... and falling right into the trap the SOB selectors have selected the f****g ba$tard in the team......

I heard Kartik and Sehwag were kumble's choice, selectors wanted Parthiv and Gambhir/Akash Chopra instead...

Here's what I don't get, though! We're taking a player who's known for one-day successes more than his test successes...

One knock on him is his ability (or lack thereof, anyways) to put his foot down and stay on the crease when the team requires him to... and he's picked for a TEST team, on road, agaist Australia...

Talk about possiblities of two extremes...either a complete recipe of disaster if he fails or complete redemption (as all the things stacked up against him will be looked at as hurdles he was able to pass) if he succeeds... it'll be interesting to see... :)

Thats a misconception. He is a much better and consistent test batsmen. He averages around 50 and most of his big hundreds have come against fast bowling teams like Aus, Pak, WI.

well guys i agree with GA dat veeru is better test player than hez in ODI....but guys forget sehwag the problem team has is where to fit yuvraj??because laxman has done nothing wrong to loose his place, dada well u cant rule him out now.....where does yuvraj goes......i think kartik will be dropped(looking at yuvi's form he'll be sacrifised) dravid will open with jaffer and yuvi comes in middle order dada back to where he started from no3.(though in OZ land it will be another test for his mental toughness).....and wil pathan fit-in??i think he shud(i mean Ishant sharma...??give me a break guys).....wat say bhai log??

So finally after a blazing century against ACT 11, Sehwag all set to play at Perth.

The fast wickets will be a big challenge however the bat will come to ball nicely so it should be interesting to watch tomorrow..

yuvraj ka balla khamosh hai,koi option nahi sewag ke siwa, sehwag ne lambe arse ke baad practice match me 78 balls me 113 runs banaye, lekin kal match me kya karenge pata nahi...sehwag team india ki panwati hai...kuch nahi karenge...harake hi dumm lange...

Yuvraj doosre balls se khel raha hai, kahin aur strokes laga raha hai ;)

Agar Sehwag ne accha khela to woh hero ban jayega, warna uska career khatam

Sehwag finally proved his worth in the team and in what style. Not many Indian batsmen have the ability to score a hundred on a fifth day of a test match.

I can now say - "maine bola tha na" :D
