Hi Folks am back after a long time, and today am sharing a thought on a long going argument. But just take it for fun and not too seriously. There's no personal comment on any one, just a thought.

If Non-vegetarians are Sinners, then aren't Vegetarians too...
There has been a long time argument on how corrupt minded and sinners are all those who consume flesh of living creatures.

Some of my friends claim that am doing wrong act as well as performing a sin by eating non-vegetarian food. Why? Since LIVING CREATURES are slaughtered and their organs are eaten as food thus committing a sin as the food is obtained at a cost of the lives of the creatures slaughtered.

So all my dear vegetarian friends, do you know the meaning of Vegetarian food, and you think that you are free of all deadly SINS. Then let me make it clear that you too play equal role in this SIN, how? Read on…

First of all… What is Vegetarian Food?

Ans:- Anything that is obtained from any part of VEGETATION (PLANTS). Note this point.

So this means none of the Vegetarians consume MILK and MILK PRODUCTS.

WHAT?

YOU DO CONSUME?

Oh MY GOD, this means you do consume NON-VEGETARIAN food.

WHAT? It’s an exception as the animal is not killed in the process of milking?

THINK AGAIN!

You consume the milk on which only the young one’s of that animal has rights. Those young ones are tied and kept away from their mothers during milking process or else they are feared to drink all the milk leaving nothing for consumers.

NOW WHAT?

Aren’t you committing a SIN by levying injustice on that poor young one of that milked animal?

I SEE, so as per you now COWS and BUFFALOES are SPECIALLY tended for producing more milk and they are milked through machines.

So it means a normal COW/BUFFALO is made to produce more milk than its normal capacity, and for that you never know what experiments are done on them, on other hand milking through machines give more pain to them. By The Way do those animals sign any contract for this? Is their consent taken into consideration, whether they are willing for this experiment.

So this means you are also supporting INHUMAN activities against nature, which again is a SIN!!!

Also I have heard that MILK is made up of BLOOD TISSUES. If that’s true then…

Hell Damn It! Apart from SINNER you even are a VAMPIRE who drinks BLOOD!!!

Now lets get back to the point.

So now you promise you would GIVE UP MILK & its PRODUCTS to reduce the burden of this SIN.

VEGETARIAN…

From school days we have learnt that like ANIMALS, PLANTS too are LIVING CREATURES, it means that they too BREATHE, CONSUME FOOD, FEEL THE PAIN, BLEED, DIE, isn’t it?

Now tell me…

If slaughtering ANIMALS is a sin, don’t you slaughter PLANTS?

WHAT?

You don’t kill plants, just pluck their parts? And that doesn’t KILL them?

My friend it’s like you are breaking its limb first, and then after few days its HEAD, and so on. STEP BY STEP KATAL-E-AAM (killing)

Animals can at least CRY OFF for HELP, and they just die once, but PLANTS, they CAN NIETHER CRY for help, nor RUN AWAY to escape. They just stand still and bear all the trouble and pain.

You can see an ANIMAL BLEEDING, but have you ever cared to SEE the PLANT BLEEDING off its JUICE?

Hey I forgot this, you drink BLOOD too...

The FRUIT JUICE, isn’t it the BLOOD of the FRUIT squeezed out to relish you?

You also eat EGGS!!!

The food grains and cereals!!! They contain young life within them, poor soul, what do you do to it? Eat it RAW, BOIL IT, ROAST IT, BAKE IT… Oh so you are a again taking active part in INFANTICIDE (killing of an infant).

Do you require to know any more of the sins you perform daily?

Why are there ANIMAL ACTIVISTS and not PLANT ACTIVIST?

Don’t they have an AATMA (SOUL) within them?

If humans and animals die people have reported to see their SPIRIT/GHOST, why don’t we see GHOST of a PLANT/TREE if it’s killed.

WHY aren’t there movies like “EK AKELE KELE KA BADLA” and “AAM KA INTEKAM”!!!

IF PLANTS WERE TO HAVE VOICE, OUR ATMOSPHERE WOULD BE FILLED WITH NOISE FROM THEIR PAINFUL SCREECHES & SCREAMS!!!

So now stop calling NON-VEGETARIANS as SINNERS, since you too travel in the SAME BOAT.

Welcome back Pravin

Interesting article .. I guess the argument between veggies and non-veggies will never end.

My personal opinion ....

We are all part of a food chain and the ones on top eat the ones at the bottom.

I am a non-veggie but if someone is a vegan, then I respect his beliefs and will try not to eat non-veg in front of him ... as long as he does'nt try to shove his thoughts down my throat.

WHY aren’t there movies like “EK AKELE KELE KA BADLA” and “AAM KA INTEKAM”!!!

If similar logic is applied to masturbating, then I'm going to hell :(

Good discussion, Pravin Saab...

This 'ongoing' argument is like that of what came first - A Chicken or an Egg?... oh let's make the playing field even by also posing the question, "What came first - An Apple or the Seed?" :D

- One of my favorite observation on this topic is simply this:

Notice how vegitarians go to a non-veggie's house and demand/request ahead of time that the food cooked should be a vegitarian dish? Even though the host's common dinner dish might be a non-veg item on a daily basis?

Well, why don't non-veggies demand a plate of lamb chops whenever they go to a vegitarian's house for dinner?

- And, how about them "Vegitarians" who like to eat omelette as their morning breakfast? At least non-veggies don't go into an animal's body, cut out uterus and eat the embryos within... that would be "rare"...oh no... let's call it "Medium over easy".... pun intended... :D

- I fail to understand what our ancestors ate before agriculture was invented? :3:

(Oh BTW, I am non-veggie too, and couldn't agree with Masti more. I don't enforce my thoughts on people as long as they know where to draw a line)

Just wanted to clarify something from the Hindu school of thought (not qualified to speak about any other religion or vegetarianism philosophy). First of all Hinduism does not consider the partaking of meat as being sin. This has been a misconception introduced by the Brahmins (Priest community). Hindu philosophy believes in a trinity of virtues to classify all living beings, these are Satva(Pure), Rajas(Active) and Tamas(Inert). Every living being plant, animal, bird, insect ... etc exhibit these virtues. The levels of each of these is different in different organisms and in humans different from person to person. What you consume directly regulates the levels of these in your body. Note the word consume is used rather than eat because its not only the diet alone but what you perceive through your senses, what you think, what you do that regulates the levels. The more the level of pure virtues in a person the closer he/she is able to get to the Supreme. Now since the topic of discussion was food lets come back to it. Animals exhibit higher levels of Active and Inert virtues compared to plants and hence consuming animals effects the equilibrium of the virtue levels in the body accordingly. Milk and other dairy products even though coming from an animal tend to have higher level of the Pure virtues as compared to the meat and hence were incorporated in the diet Again certain plant and plant products exhibit higher levels of the Inert virtues like onions, garlic ... etc. It was advised that Priests indulge only in Satvic food, thoughts, actions ... etc to be able to get closer to God. The other castes indulged in meat. So the concept of Vegetarian diet in Hinduism has nothing to do with sin.

From a logical perspective it is impossible for a living being to derive nutrition without indulging in the consumption of something that is alive or was at some time alive. Even looking at it scientifically energy/matter is neither created nor destroyed it is just transfered from one form to another.

i am a vegetarian, but dont think being a nonvegetarian makes some1 a sinner

its a matter of personal choice... n in many cases a religious obligation...

so we shall respect whatever people prefer to do... a veggie has no right to say that a nonveggie is bad / sinner or anything and applicable vice-versa.....

and adding to it if someone is not comfortable with nonveg being served or cook or eaten in front of, its again a personal choice... a personal reaction.... no sense in arguing over that....

my 2-3 cents :)
